Key Roles & Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth objectives.
- Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning to ensure financial stability and growth.
- Analyze market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify financial opportunities and risks.
- Identify potential acquisition/merger candidates and develop acquisition strategies (financing, terms, etc.)
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both US and Indian entities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Lead the preparation of financial presentations for the Board of Directors and investors.
Capital Management:
- Oversee the management of the company’s capital structure, including debt, equity, and working capital.
- Lead fundraising efforts, including securing new capital, and managing relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Optimize the company’s capital allocation to support strategic initiatives and growth including acquisitions.
Operational Finance:
- Oversee accounting, payroll, tax, and treasury functions.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead the implementation of financial systems and tools to support scalability and efficiency.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive risk management strategies.
- Ensure the company’s insurance coverage is adequate and cost-effective.
- Lead efforts to maintain compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate as a partner with other executives and department heads to support overall business strategy and operations.
- Drive a culture of financial discipline and accountability across the organization.
Experience and Skills
Minimum
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a CFO or similar role.
- Proven experience in the technology or e-commerce industry is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial analysis, and mergers/acquisitions.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
- Experience working with venture capital, private equity, or similar investment entities is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field; CA or CPA required.
